Hello, I just got a netgear WN311B wireless network adapter, and I've been having trouble getting the drivers installed. I've heard conflicting things about whether the drivers from netgear work or the drivers on windows 7 work, but neither seem to work for me. Windows xp drivers for mac. I've installed the drivers from the included cd, but the smart wizard then claims that the 'wireless adapter is not inserted.' The adapter is in, and the power lights are running. When I first started up my computer with the card inserted, windows 7 attempted to install its own drivers, but it failed. Looking at the device manager, the adapter does not show up under 'network adapters,' but a network controller in PCI Bus 1(I have 1 PCI Slot) has an error, so I'm assuming that's the device. When I try to uninstall it and get windows to reinstall its drivers for it, that fails as well. I am told this has worked for some: • Navigate to Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network Connections, • then “Right Click” on the “Broadcom Wireless Network Connection” Icon. • Select “Properties”, then Click on “Configure” and • then Click on “Roll Back Driver” in the “Driver Tab”. • Next, navigate to the “Driver” Tab again. Click on “Update Driver”, • Select “Brows my comuter for driver software”, • then Select, “Let me Pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”.
